Who FamilyColab is for

FamilyColab is a private space for one family: parents and their children, with every child's account created and managed by a parent. This page explains the App Store rating and how children are protected.

Who it is for

FamilyColab is for families. Parents or guardians create the family account, manage billing, and decide who is in the family. Children use profiles their parent created, with their own simple login, and see only the features their parent has allowed.

Almost everything in FamilyColab stays inside your own family. The few places where people from other families appear, and how they are kept safe, are listed below.

App Store rating: 4+

FamilyColab is rated 4+ on the App Store. It is built for families with parent-managed child accounts, and it is not a social network: there are no public profiles, no feed, and no way to meet people outside your family and the friends who have accepted a connection with you.

Family messaging, mail, and video calls work only between family members and accepted friends, never with strangers or the public. Shared content such as photos, stories, and recorded messages stays inside the family unless the family chooses to publish it, as with a memorial page. Children use FamilyColab only through an account a parent created and manages, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child outside a parent-managed family.

How children are protected

  • Every child login is created by a parent.

Children do not sign themselves up. A parent sets up the family, creates each child's login, and can change or remove a child's profile at any time from the Parent dashboard.

  • Messaging, mail, and video calls never reach strangers.

Chat, Post Office mail, and video calls work only between members of the same family and friends who have accepted a connection. There are no public profiles, no feed, and no way to search for or discover people. Our servers refuse any message or call to anyone else.

  • Friends are made by invitation, and a child's friends go through a parent.

A parent can connect with another parent, which makes the children of both families friends. A family member can also invite someone by their private buddy code or email, and that person must accept before anything can be sent. When a child sends or accepts a friend invite, it waits until a parent approves it on the Parent dashboard, where parents also see each child's friends list and can remove a friend at any time.

  • Parents and children can block people and report content.

Anyone outside your family can be blocked, which stops chat, Post Office mail, and video calls with them in both directions; your blocked list, with an unblock button, is under Profile → Privacy & safety. Chat messages, Post Office mail, video calls, and shared content such as pictures, stories, memorial guestbook entries, and co-parent messages all carry a Report action, and we review every report within 24 hours.

  • Parent approval and screen time tools.

Parents can set screen time limits for their children, and a parent approval queue holds completed chores, allowance and bank requests, screen time requests, meal ideas, and Family Inbox mail until a parent says yes.

  • No advertising.

FamilyColab shows no ads, uses no advertising network, runs no third-party analytics, and does not sell personal information.
